Happy New Year!

Here at the Hope for Children Foundation we have much to celebrate – thanks to you, our donors, volunteers and sponsors.
In spite of difficult financial circumstances last year, you sustained your commitment to families in need. We are grateful for your continuing support and generosity that help us:

• Support child abuse prevention programs that enhance children’s lives
• Assist children recover from traumatic experiences
• Provide the gift of education to children and youth
• Nurture confidence through summer camp programs
• Supply families with food and gifts at Christmas
• Plant seeds of hope to empower children and youth to move towards a brighter future

Adopt-a-Family Program Goes Over the Top

The Adopt-a-Family Program keeps growing and growing! In December 2009, 500 family and corporate employee groups registered and were matched with 900 families in need. With your support we were able to provide these needy families with toys, gift certificates and cash donations to help them celebrate Christmas and rise above their everyday worries.
Crestwood Preparatory College was one of the groups that participated in the program. Students, teachers and parents at the school got together to make a positive impact by helping less fortunate families. Teacher Mark Ferley said “600 students from grades 7 to 12 would like to contribute to society and on a daily basis they search for ways to make themselves better individuals. This Christmas, the Hope for Children Foundation provided the ‘avenue’ to these students to make a difference.”

The school is thankful for the efforts of the Foundation as it made it easy for students to receive information on the needs of the families they helped.

Crestwood’s efforts helped 10 local families (60 individuals).
“A special thanks to the Benzaquen family for their generous donation of furniture as well as to other families who contributed more than was expected or hoped for,”  said Mr. Ferley.
